Personal data and user accounts

Users can create an account on this website themselves. In addition, UBM may, following consultation with and with the consent of the user, create an account on the user’s behalf.

We process personal data in order to:

provide access to restricted content;
enable downloads;
manage registrations for online demonstrations and events;
analyse and improve the use of our services.

The data is stored within Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Frankfurt region, Germany.

We process personal data:

first name;
Surname;
business email address;
organisation name;
password.

Passwords are stored in encrypted form and cannot be viewed by UBM staff.

Retention period

User data is retained for a maximum of one year after a user has last logged in, unless a longer retention period is required due to a legal obligation or an existing business relationship.

A user account is deleted when:

1. there has been no login for more than one year;
2. the account has existed for more than one year;
3. there is no longer an active data relationship that necessitates the retention of the account.

If an account is linked to other data within our systems, the user data is first anonymised or encrypted. The account is then permanently deleted after 30 days.
At the user’s request, personal data will be deleted as soon as possible, unless a statutory retention obligation requires otherwise.

Downloads

When a user downloads content, we record which documents or files have been downloaded. We use this information to analyse areas of interest and to improve our services.

Visitor statistics

For logged-in users, we record:

which pages are visited;
which actions are carried out within the application.

This data:

is collected exclusively for logged-in users;
are stored for a maximum of one year.
